flavobacterium plurextorum sp. nov. isolated from farmed rainbow trout (oncorhynchus mykiss).five strains (1126-1h-08(t), 51b-09, 986-08, 1084b-08 and 424-08) were isolated from diseased rainbow trout. cells were gram-negative rods, 0.7 µm wide and 3 µm long, non-endospore-forming, catalase and oxidase positive. colonies were circular, yellow-pigmented, smooth and entire on tge agar after 72 hours incubation at 25°c. they grew in a temperature range between 15°c to 30°c, but they did not grow at 37°cor 42°c. based on 16s rrna gene sequence analysis, the isolates belonged to the genus fl ...201323825681
flavobacterium cutihirudinis sp. nov., isolated from the skin of the medical leech hirudo verbana.a gram-staining-negative, non-endospore-forming, yellow-pigmented strain (e89(t)) was isolated from the skin of the medical leech hirudo verbana obtained from a leech farm located in biebertal, germany. 16s rrna gene sequencing analysis showed that the isolate was grouped in the genus flavobacterium. strain e89(t) was most closely related to flavobacterium chilense lm-09-fp(t) (98.2 %), flavobacterium chungangense cj7(t) (98.1 %), and flavobacterium oncorhynchi 631-08(t) (98.1 %). 16s rrna gene ...201323315416
flavobacterium olei sp. nov., a novel psychrotolerant bacterium isolated from oil-contaminated soil.during a study of psychrophilic hydrocarbon-degrading bacteria, two yellow, gram-staining-negative, non-motile, and rod shaped bacteria, designated r-10-9t and k-4-2 were isolated from oil-contaminated soil from ulaanbaatar, mongolia. both strains were able to grow at 0-32 °c, ph 5.0-9.5, and 0-1 % (w/v) nacl concentration. these strains were taxonomically characterized by a polyphasic approach. on the basis of the results of 16s rrna gene sequence analysis, r-10-9t and k-4-2 belong to the genus ...201728699576
flavobacterium panacisoli sp. nov., isolated from soil of a ginseng field.a novel bacterial strain, designated dcy70(t), was isolated from soil of a ginseng field in republic of korea and was characterized in order to determine its taxonomic position. the strain was gram-reaction negative, yellow-pigmented, rod-shaped and catalase- and oxidase-positive. based on the 16s rrna gene sequence similarity, strain dcy70(t) was shown to belong to the genus flavobacterium, most closely related to flavobacterium oncorhynchi 631-08(t) (98.4 %), flavobacterium plurextorum 1126-1h ...201627120464
flavobacterium oncorhynchi sp. nov., a new species isolated from rainbow trout (oncorhynchus mykiss).eighteen isolates of a gram-negative, catalase and oxidase-positive, rod-shaped bacterium, recovered from diseased rainbow trout (oncorhynchus mykiss), were characterized, using a polyphasic taxonomic approach. studies based on comparative 16s rrna gene sequence analysis showed that that the eighteen new isolates shared 99.2-100% sequence similarities. phylogenetic analysis revealed that isolates from trout belonged to the genus flavobacterium, showing the highest sequence similarities to f. chu ...201222227311
