lactobacillus florum sp. nov., a fructophilic species isolated from flowers.three strains of fructophilic lactic acid bacteria were isolated from flowers in south africa. the isolates formed a subcluster in the lactobacillus buchneri phylogenetic group, closely related to lactobacillus fructivorans, lactobacillus homohiochii, lactobacillus lindneri and lactobacillus sanfranciscensis according to phylogenetic analysis based on the 16s rrna gene sequences. levels of dna-dna relatedness indicated that the three strains belonged to the same taxon and formed a genetically di ...201019965998
draft genome sequence of fructophilic lactobacillus florum.herein we report the first genome sequence for lactobacillus florum. l. florum 2f was isolated from valencia orange leaves and is fructophilic, like other strains of this species. the draft genome of l. florum 2f contains 1,261,842 bp with a g+c content of 41.5% in 46 contigs (≥500 bp).201323405360
polyol production during heterofermentative growth of the plant isolate lactobacillus florum 2f.this study examined the fermentative growth and polyol production of lactobacillus florum and other plant-associated lactic acid bacteria (lab).201626913577
Identification and characterization of Lactobacillus florum strains isolated from South African grape and wine samples.A total of 213 strains of lactic acid bacteria were examined in this study. Among these, 30 strains previously isolated from South African grape and wine samples remained unidentified. The identification of these isolates was performed by BLAST and phylogenetic analyses of 16S rDNA gene sequences, which indicated that the isolates belonged to Lactobacillus florum. In this work, we also designed a discriminative species-specific primer FLOR targeting the 16S rDNA gene of Lb. florum. The validity ...201122137250
lactobacillus ixorae sp. nov., isolated from a flower (west-indian jasmine).a gram-stain-positive, lactic acid bacterium, strain ru20-1t, was isolated from a flower (west-indian jasmine) collected from kalasin province, thailand. a polyphasic approach was used to determine the taxonomic position of this strain. studies of morphological and biochemical characteristics revealed that strain ru20-1t belonged to the genus lactobacillus. the strain was heterofermentative, non-spore-forming and rod-shaped. it produced dl-lactic acid. based on 16s rrna gene sequence similarity, ...201627902183
