asaia lannaensis sp. nov., a new acetic acid bacterium in the alphaproteobacteria.asaia lannaensis sp. nov. was described for two strains isolated from flowers of the spider lily collected in chiang mai, thailand. the isolates produced acetic acid from ethanol on ethanol/calcium carbonate agar, differing from the type strains of asaia bogorensis, asaia siamensis, and asaia krungthepensis, but did not grow in the presence of 0.35% acetic acid (v/v). the new species is the fourth of the genus asaia, the family acetobacteraceae.200818323663
asaia lannaensis bloodstream infection in a child with cancer and bone marrow transplantation. 200919502367
nosocomial infection with asaia lannensis in two paediatric patients with idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy.this is the first report, to our knowledge, of two temporally and geographically related nosocomial asaia lannensis infections in a paediatric setting. two patients with idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy awaiting cardiac transplantation developed bacteraemia during their hospital stay. the physical location of both patients, the temporal association of infections, as well as the isolation of two identical pathogens suggested a nosocomial transmission. commonly used identification methods and ins ...201020339020
antibacterial and antiadhesive activities of extracts from edible plants against soft drink spoilage by asaia spp.this study was conducted to investigate the antibacterial and antiadhesive activities of ethanol extracts from five edible plant parts: cinnamon bark ( cinnamomum zeylanicum ), licorice root ( glycyrrhiza radix ), nettle leaves ( urtica dioica ), green tea leaves ( camellia sinensis ), and elderberry flowers ( sambucus nigra ). the chemical constituents of the extracts were identified using high-performance liquid chromatography and liquid chromatography plus mass spectrometry. six strains of as ...201728221885
black currant (ribes nigrum l.) and bilberry (vaccinium myrtillus l.) fruit juices inhibit adhesion of asaia spp.the aim of the study was to evaluate the activity of high-polyphenolic black currant (ribes nigrum l.) and bilberry (vaccinium myrtillus l.) juices against bacterial strains asaia lannensis and asaia bogorensis isolated as spoilage of commercial soft drinks. the composition of fruit juices was evaluated using chromatographic techniques hplc and lc-ms. the adhesion to glass, polystyrene, and polyethylene terephthalate in two different culture media was evaluated by luminometry and the plate count ...201627747228
asaia lannensis bacteremia in a 'needle freak' patient.the genus asaia has gained much interest lately owing to constant new species discoveries and its role as a potential opportunistic pathogen to humans. here we describe a transient bacteremia due to asaia lannensis in a patient with a psychiatric disorder (compulsive self-injection of different substances). common phenotypic methods of identification failed to identify this organism, and only restriction fragment lenght polymorphism of pcr-amplified 16s rrna gene allowed for proper identificatio ...201626674160
