seven novel species of acinetobacter isolated from activated sludge.thirteen isolates of acinetobacter were obtained from activated sludge plants in victoria, australia. earlier 16s-23s rdna genomic fingerprinting and partial 16s rdna sequence data had suggested that these isolates might contain previously undescribed species. this view was confirmed here. a polyphasic taxonomic approach involving phenotypic characterization, near-complete 16s rdna sequence data and dna-dna hybridization analyses support the view that seven novel genomic species can be different ...200312892111
acinetobacter marinus sp. nov. and acinetobacter seohaensis sp. nov., isolated from sea water of the yellow sea in korea.two gram-negative, nonmotile, coccobacilli, sw-3t and sw-100t, were isolated from sea water of the yellow sea in korea. strains sw-3t and sw-100t contained ubiquinone-9 (q-9) as the predominant respiratory lipoquinone and c18:1 omega9c and c16:0 as the major fatty acids. the dna g+c contents of strains sw-3t and sw-100t were 44.1 mol% and 41.9 mol%, respectively. a neighbor-joining tree based on 16s rrna gene sequences showed that the two isolates fell within the evolutionary radiation enclosed ...200718092456
complete sequences of two novel bla ndm-1-harbouring plasmids from two acinetobacter towneri isolates in china associated with the acquisition of tn125.two novel new delhi metallo-β-lactamase-1 (ndm-1)-positive plasmids containing a complete composite transposon, tn125, from two respective acinetobacter towneri isolates were characterized. plasmid pndm-gj01 (30,293 bp) isolated from a. towneri g165 did not show homology to any known plasmid structure, except for the transposon tn125 containing bla ndm-1. a novel repb gene and two xre-type transcriptional regulators were found in pndm-gj01. plasmid pndm-gj02 (62,011 bp) isolated from a. towneri ...201728839253
genome sequence of airborne acinetobacter sp. strain 5-2ac02 in the hospital environment, close to the species of acinetobacter towneri.acinetobacter spp. are found in 53% of air colonization samples from the hospital environment. in this work, we sequenced all the genome of airborne acinetobacter sp. strain 5-2ac02. we found important features at the genomic level in regards to the rhizome. by phylogenetic analysis, a. towneri was the species most closely related to acinetobacter sp. 5-2ac02.201627932646
