[discovery, clinical and etiological characteristic of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome in the subtropical zone of krasnodar region].twenty-six patients with hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (hfrs) were revealed as a result of serological examination of 582 patients with fever living around sochi town. etiologic role of dobrava virus subtype as the cause of hfrs was assessed by immunofluorescent and elisa assays, and neutralization test. the principal host of this virus and source of infection for humans is caucasian forest mouse apodemus ponticus. hfrs morbidity was sporadic and not dependent from patients' occupation a ...200818376466
Isolation of sochi virus from a fatal case of hantavirus disease with fulminant clinical course.Sochi virus, a novel genetic variant of Dobrava-Belgrade virus, was isolated in cell culture from a fulminant lethal case of hantavirus disease presenting with shock and combined kidney and lung failure. Sochi virus is transmitted to humans from host reservoir Apodemus ponticus and must be considered a life-threatening emerging agent.201222042875
[hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome group outbreak caused by sochi virus.]hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (hfrs) occupies a leading place among natural focal human diseases in the russian federation. sporadic incidence of hfrs-sochi has been annually recorded in the krasnodar territory since 2000. the group outbreak of the hfrs-sochi was first registered in gelendzhik in the fall of 2013.202030893528
[genetic differentiation of caucasian wood mice: comparison of isozymic, chromosomal and molecular divergence].data on the complex genetic analysis of three sympatric species of caucasian wood mice, apodemus ponticus, a. fulvipectus, and a. uralensis are presented. a high degree of genetic differentiation at the isozymic, karyological and molecular (nuclear dna) levels was revealed. the genetic distances between each pair of species varied significantly within a wide range depending on the analyzed level of the organization of genetic material. mean values of genetic divergence from one species to anothe ...19989589852
life-threatening sochi virus infections, russia.sochi virus was recently identified as a new hantavirus genotype carried by the black sea field mouse, apodemus ponticus. we evaluated 62 patients in russia with sochi virus infection. most clinical cases were severe, and the case-fatality rate was as high as 14.5%.201526584463
dobrava-belgrade virus: phylogeny, epidemiology, disease.dobrava-belgrade virus (dobv) is an old world hantavirus that causes hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome in humans. with a case fatality rate up to 12%, dobv infection is the most life-threatening hantavirus disease in europe. the virus was initially identified in the balkans, but the discovery of new endemic foci have expanded its recognized geographic range. the recent description of novel genetic variants with different degrees of pathogenicity have complicated its taxonomic analysis. the o ...201222659378
