application of systolic time intervals to acute cardiomyopathy with echovirous 2.the occurrence of echovirus type 2 myocarditis in an adult is reported. myocarditis was substantiated by abnormal electrocardiograms. more important, a prolonged course and severe functional impairment was quantitatively assessed by serial systolic time intervals, even after the ecgs became normal. the patient also had meningitis, hemiparesis, and convulsions. viral isolation was from the spinal fluid.19761261332
structure-activity relationships of new antiviral compounds.in preliminary experiments, the compound 2-amino-5-(2-sulfamoylphenyl)-1,3,4-thiadiazole (g413) was shown to possess high activity against dna viruses (herpes simplex viruses 1 and 2 and adenovirus 17) and rna viruses (poliovirus 1, echovirus 2, and coxsackievirus b4). experiments on the replicative cycle of poliovirus 1 and production of infectious rna viruses demonstrate that this compound probably prevents assembly of virus particles by acting on structural proteins. in the present experiment ...19826297385
[detection of enterovirus rna in cerebrospinal fluid from patients with aseptic meningitis and encephalitis and its clinical significance].to study the pathogenicity of enterovirus (ev) infection in central nervous system and the method for its detection.200111986731
development and evaluation of a 'real-time' rt-pcr for the detection of enterovirus and parechovirus rna in csf and throat swab samples.a two-step reverse transcriptase taqmantrade mark duplex pcr (rt-pcr) assay was developed using the abi 7700 sequence detection system for the detection of enterovirus (ev) and parechovirus type 1 and 2 (pev) rna from samples of cerebrospinal fluid (csf) and throat swabs. using sequence-specific fluorescent dye labeled probes and continuous 'real-time' monitoring, pcr amplified product accumulation was measured. based on limiting dilutions, the taqmantrade mark enterovirus and parechovirus rt-pc ...200212116004
detection of enteroviruses in clinical samples of patients with aseptic meningitis by rapid antigen detection assay.human enteroviruses represent the most common etiological agents of aseptic meningitis. rapid diagnosis of aseptic meningitis affects the management of patients.201122338472
