Human and animal infections by vaccinia-like viruses in the state of Rio de Janeiro: A novel expanding zoonosis.Since 1999, vesicular infections caused by Orthopoxvirus in humans and animals, mainly in dairy cattle, have been identified in 20 municipalities in the Rio de Janeiro state of Brazil.
