[the age-related structure of an ixodes ricinus population studied by using a rapid anatomical method].a rapid anatomic method for the assessment of the physiologic age of ticks and their virtual age was used in studies of the age structure of a natural population of i. ricinus in the moscow region. the anatomic method was found quite fit for the purpose. the findings evidence that the age structure of i. ricinus (active imago) population is heterogeneous with variously directed seasonal fluctuations. in spring the structure is the youngest (up to 60% of imagoes are in the second age, 8 months) a ...19921435580
[forest tick ixodes ricinus (ixodidae) in the foci of tick-borne borreliosis of the northwestern part of the moscow region].monitoring studies during 1996-2001 have shown a natural foci of tick-borne borreliosis with high abundance of ixodes ricinus and high infection rate with an agent: 19.5-38.4 tick individuals per 1 km of route, infection rate 18.0 +/- 1.7-22.5 +/- 1.5%. a risk to be infected with the lyme disease in the ricinus focus of the tick-borne borreliosis during the epizootic season did not vary much during the period of study, 3.5-8.2 in different year, mean 6.0 infected ticks per 1 km of route.200212624961
characterization of borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato isolated in moscow province--a sympatric region for ixodes ricinus and ixodes persulcatus.the relationships between borrelia species and the vector ticks, ixodes persulcatus and ixodes ricinus were examined in a molecular epidemiological study. we conducted a survey in the moscow region which is a sympatric region for both species of tick. we examined 630 unfed i. ricinus and i. persulcatus, ticks collected from four different regions around moscow within an area of 250 km2. eighty-four ticks were culture positive (13.3%) and the prevalence rate varied in each region from 5.7% to 42. ...200515715174
[distribution and control of acari as vectors of human disease in urban population of moscow].human ectoparasites, such as itch mites and the follicular mites demodex brevis and d. folliculorum are notified on the territory of moscow. the bird and rodent mites ornythonyssus bacoti and the larvae of harvest mites may attack human beings indoors. the ticks ixodes ricinus and i. persulcatus begin to inhabit the tree belts and environs of moscow and other cities and towns. in the cities and towns of more southern regions of the russian federation, the red hen-mites dermanyssus gallinae are a ...200516212087
[the longevity of the tick ixodes ricinus (acari: ixodidae) in central russia].the longevity of the tick ixodes ricinus has been studied on 27 samples from a wild population of the moscow region. ticks were kept in small cages and glass tubes under conditions close to natural. about 2/3 of the specimens collected in spring survived till the next spring and later died out gradually during the second season of their activity. very few specimens reached the beginning of the third winter in their life, but apparently none of them survived the end of the winter. the life span o ...200617042281
prevalence of anaplasma phagocytophilum and its coinfection with borrelia afzelii in ixodes ricinus and ixodes persulcatus ticks inhabiting tver province (russia) - a sympatric region for both tick species.human granulocytic anaplasmosis (hga) and lyme borreliosis (lb) are tick-borne infectious diseases caused by anaplasma phagocytophilum and borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato species, respectively. in this study, p44/msp2 paralogues specific to a. phagocytophilum and 5s-23s rrna gene-intergenic spacers specific to b. burgdorferi sensu lato species were detected by pcr in ticks collected in two regions, tver (kalinin) and konakovo, of the tver (kalinin) province located 150 km north-west of moscow. t ...200818628500
[spatial and temporal variability of ixodes ricinus and ixodes persulcatus infection with the lyme disease agent in moscow region].analysis of long-term data on the infection rated of the taxonomic complex borrelia burgdorferi s. l. in ixodes persulcatus and i. ricinus from moscow region is carried out. more than 14 000 tick specimens were examined by dark-field microscopy and 704 specimens were investigated by pcr. two borrelia genospicies, b. afzelii (6.3%) and b. garinii (20%) proved the most prevalent. the genospecies could form a mixtinfection (11%). borrelia miyamotoi, b. valaisiana, and b. burgdorferi s. s. were also ...200819198169
[assessment of rate of infection with agents of bacterial infections in ticks captured on one of the moscow park terrains].to study the rate of infection of ticks captured one of the moscow park terrains with bacteria (agents of tick borreliosis and anaplasmosis).200919621812
