the genera prohemistomum and paracoenogonimus are defined. a key to their species is proposed. prohemistomum chandleri vernberg, 1952 is considered as identical with neogogatea kentuckiensis (cable, 1935). paracoenogonimus stresemanni odening, 1960 is probably similar to prohemistomum vivax (sonsino, 1892).
