serological investigation and genomic characterization of pcv2 isolates from different geographic regions of zhejiang province in china. | sera collected from 46 swine farms in zhejiang province were evaluated for the presence of antibodies to pcv2 using an indirect-fluorescent antibody procedure. in addition pcv2 isolated from superficial inguinal lymph node samples collected from 40-to 90-day-old pigs with clinical signs of post-weaning multisystemic wasting syndrome (pmws) using the pk-15 cell line were sequenced and compared. overall seroprevalence of pcv2 antibody averaged 58.34% for all samples. breakdown of serology by group ... | 2006 | 16400605 |
genome analysis and epidemiological investigation of goose circovirus detected in eastern china. | goose circovirus (gocv), a potential immuno-suppressive virus, was detected in a sample collected from yongkang avian influenza (ai) case in zhejiang province of eastern china. further, epidemiological investigation showed that, four farms located in the two major rearing areas of yongkang and xiangshan out of eight in zhejiang province were positive for gocv. however, the geese in these gocv positive farms exhibited no apparent clinical abnormality. the complete genomes of ten isolates from yon ... | 2007 | 17619136 |
a survey on porcine circovirus type 2 infection and phylogenetic analysis of its orf2 gene in hangzhou, zhejiang province, china. | porcine circovirus type 2 (pcv2) is closely related to the postweaning multisystemic wasting syndrome (pmws). in this study, the pig serum and tissue samples collected from different regions of hangzhou district in zhejiang province of china between 2003 and 2005 were analyzed by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (elisa) for pcv2 antibody and by polymerase chain reaction (pcr) for orf2 gene. the results show that out of 1250 randomly collected serum samples, 500 sera (40%) were seropositive for ... | 2008 | 18257137 |
Epidemiological investigation and genome analysis of duck circovirus in Southern China. | Duck circovirus (DuCV), a potential immunosuppressive virus, was investigated in Southern China from March 2006 to December 2009 by using a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) based method. In this study, a total of 138 sick or dead duck samples from 18 different farms were examined with an average DuCV infection rate of ~35%. It was found that ducks between the ages of 40~60 days were more susceptible to DuCV. There was no evidence showing that the DuCV virus was capable of vertical transmission. F ... | 2011 | 21979568 |
