Cytology of the mass revealed many degenerate neutrophils, moderate numbers of eosinophils, moderate numbers of macrophages, rare mast cells, and few erythrocytes. The elongate gametocytes of H. apigmentada are 13-19 X 6-9 m, with length X width 90-133 m, and L/W ratio 1.56-3.17. Gametocytes dimensions do not differ by sex. Gametocytes are unpigmented. Pathological Study of Blood Parasites in Rice Field Frogs, Hoplobatrachus rugulosus (Wiegmann, 1834).One hundred and forty adult rice field frogs, Hoplobatrachus rugulosus (Wiegmann, 1834), were collected in Srakaew province, Thailand. For blood parasite examination, thin blood smears were made and routinely stained with Giemsa.
