[a simple method for the isolation of immunoglobulin (y) from the eggs of immunized hens].hens were vaccinated with salmonella typhi-murium and with serum-igg from a goat. antibodies (igy) were isolated from the eggs by ammonium sulphate precipitation. the concentration of egg antibodies was equal or superior to the concentration of serum antibodies of the hen. the longlasting antibody plateau of 9 and 28 weeks, respectively, provides evidence of the high yields of specific igy which can be collected from a single immunized hen.19902200226
reducing mortality in salmonella enterica serovar typhimurium-infected mice with a tripeptidic serum fraction.salmonellosis-induced mortality in female swiss webster mice decreased significantly when tripeptidic immunostimulant (tpi) was administered prophylactically. prophylactic benefits developed in a dose-dependent manner wherein 15 mg of tpi given 1 day before challenge reduced mortality by 70%.200212019117
early expression of intercellular adhesion molecule-1 in the corneal endothelium stimulated by endotoxin: an immuno-scanning electron microscopical study.three-dimensional localization of the intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (icam-1) in the corneal endothelium stimulated by salmonella typhimurium endotoxin was investigated using immuno-scanning electron microscopy (sem). samonella typhimurium endotoxin, 100 micrograms, was injected in lewis rats weighing 200 grams. the animals, including the controls, were sacrificed and both eyes enucleated at 0, 3, 12 and 24 hours after injection (n = 3 each time). after resection, the corneas were immersed in ...19968739495
