novel avian influenza h7n3 strain outbreak, british columbia.genome sequences of chicken (low pathogenic avian influenza [lpai] and highly pathogenic avian influenza [hpai]) and human isolates from a 2004 outbreak of h7n3 avian influenza in canada showed a novel insertion in the ha0 cleavage site of the human and hpai isolate. this insertion likely occurred by recombination between the hemagglutination and matrix genes in the lpai virus.200415663859
epidemiologic profile of a new h3n2 variant of influenza a mismatched to vaccine, 2003-2004 influenza season. 200515693177
human illness and isolation of low-pathogenicity avian influenza virus of the h7n3 subtype in british columbia, canada. 200616479527
protective measures and human antibody response during an avian influenza h7n3 outbreak in poultry in british columbia, canada.in 2004 an outbreak of avian influenza of the h7n3 subtype occurred among poultry in british columbia, canada. we report compliance with recommended protective measures and associated human infections during this outbreak.200717200390
association between the 2008-09 seasonal influenza vaccine and pandemic h1n1 illness during spring-summer 2009: four observational studies from canada.in late spring 2009, concern was raised in canada that prior vaccination with the 2008-09 trivalent inactivated influenza vaccine (tiv) was associated with increased risk of pandemic influenza a (h1n1) (ph1n1) illness. several epidemiologic investigations were conducted through the summer to assess this putative association.201020386731
facial protective equipment, personnel, and pandemics: impact of the pandemic (h1n1) 2009 virus on personnel and use of facial protective equipment.before the emergence of the pandemic (h1n1) 2009 virus, estimates of the stockpiles of facial protective equipment (fpe) and the impact that information had on personnel during a pandemic varied.201020731598
seasonal influenza vaccine and increased risk of pandemic a/h1n1‐related illness: first detection of the association in british columbia, canada.in april 2009, an elementary school outbreak of pandemic h1n1 (ph1n1) influenza was reported in a community in northern british columbia, canada--an area that includes both non-aboriginal and aboriginal residents living on or off a reserve. during the outbreak investigation, we explored the relationship between prior receipt of trivalent inactivated influenza vaccine (tiv) and ph1n1-related illness.201020887210
