[occurrence of bovine ehrlichiosis in the canton obwalden].due the examination of six brown swiss cows the "schinberg-fever" a clinical picture known for years in central switzerland could be identified as bovine ehrlichiosis. clinical signs were observed 23 to 116 days after the animals were turned out on pasture. main symptoms were fever and reduced milk yield. all animals were infested with ticks and showed a severe leucopenia. in buffy coat preparations ehrlichia phagocytophila could be identified in neutrophils and eosinophils, rarely in monocytes. ...19979411737
