etiology of childhood diarrhea in beijing, china.to determine the role of recently recognized enteropathogens in childhood diarrhea in china, 221 children with diarrhea and 108 controls seen at the beijing children's hospital were studied during april and may 1989. stools were examined for ova, parasites, and rotavirus, cultured for bacterial pathogens, and probed for enterotoxigenic escherichia coli (etec), enteroinvasive e. coli (eiec), enterohemorrhagic e. coli (ehec), and enteropathogenic adherence factor-positive (eaf+) e. coli. pathogens ...19911993771
[surveillance on vi-ii phage typing and antimicrobial susceptibilities of s. typhi strains in beijing city].from 1973 to 1989, 961 strains of s. typhi collected in beijing city were tested for their vi-ii phage typing and antimicrobial susceptibilities. the results of phage typing showed that 38 types were found with a high prevalence of types a, d2, e1, k1, d5, d1, o, d4, and l1. the results of antimicrobial susceptibilities showed that all of the 168 local strains were highly susceptible to chloramphenicol, similar to the 96 phage typing standard strains.19969387577
sludge production and management processes: case study in china.in 2010, the sewage sludge production rate will be 178,500 t dried solids (ds) for beijing and 294,000 t-ds for shanghai, respectively. beijing adopts a centralized system to stabilize 78% of her sludge in three rural stabilization centres. aerated composting technique will be used. shanghai on the contrary decentralizes the management plan to treat the sludge on site. diverse treatment trains, such as aerobic/anaerobic digestion, drying, incineration, and composting will be applied. production ...200617087385
an analysis of hospital preparedness capacity for public health emergency in four regions of china: beijing, shandong, guangxi, and hainan.hospital preparedness is critical for the early detection and management of public health emergency (phe). understanding the current status of phe preparedness is the first step in planning to enhance hospitals' capacities for emergency response. the objective of this study is to understand the current status of hospital phe preparedness in china.200818803860
[the distribution and antimicrobial resistance tendency of pathogens associated with diarrhea in beijing].to monitor the constituents and resistant tendency of bacterial pathogens isolated from diarrheal patients in our hospital form 1994 to 2005 to offer the basis for guiding epidemiologic study, vaccination research and clinical treatment.200818843955
[etiological analysis of enteric infectious diseases during beijing olympic games].to understand pathogen patterns of enteric infectious diseases and its impact on this pattern due to aggregation of a great deal of foreign visitors during beijing olympic games.200920137562
[etiological surveillance and analysis of infectious diarrhea in beijing in year 2010].to explore the pathogenic form, epidemic features and serotype distribution of the pathogenic bacteria causing infectious diarrhea in beijing.201122177306
mutagenicity of water and sediment extracts from the yongdinghe watershed.potential mutagenicities of water and sediment in guanting reservoir/yongdinghe river watershed in beijing, china were assessed using the ame's tests for the organic pollutants. for different sampling sites, the results were indicative for the existence of mutagens. furthermore, by using different types of ames tests, different types of mutagens in water and in sediment were elucidated. the results on ames tests for water concentrates and sediment extracts could be obviously differentiated. muta ...200312940481
[a bacteriological and helminthological investigation on a sewage-irrigated area in beijing suburb]. 19863542430
a bacteriological and helminthological investigation of a sewage-irrigated area in a beijing suburb.the municipal sewage and raw sludge removed from a sewage treatment plant were the main sources of pollution by pathogenic bacteria and helminthic eggs in land utilization. the level of pollution in the sewage-irrigated areas was as high as that in the areas using fresh night soil. the survival time of salmonella and ascaris ova in soil irrigated with sewage was relatively long. the soil had a definite natural capacity for purifying pathogenic bacteria. because of the different ways of watering, ...19883270523
prevalence of salmonella on raw poultry at retail markets in china.data regarding salmonella on raw poultry are very limited in china. the objective of this study was to determine the prevalence of salmonella on raw poultry at the retail level in six provinces and two national cities in china. whole chicken carcasses (n = 1,152) were collected from three types of retail markets (large, small, and wet). all samples were analyzed for the presence of salmonella by using the u.s. department of agriculture, food safety inspection service method. of 1,152 chicken sa ...201122004821
[epidemiological characteristics and molecular typing of salmonella in beijing from 2008 to 2009].to study the epidemiological characteristics and molecular phenotypes of salmonella by pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (pfge) in beijing from 2008 to 2009.201121426788
