prevalence of cystic echinococcosis in slaughtered cattle in afyonkarahisar.this study was carried out in 1001 cattle that were slaughtered in 3 abattoirs in the afyonkarahisar district of western turkey. abattoirs were visited twice a week and internal organs of the cattle were examined for cystic echinococcosis (ce). the number of organs discarded because of ce was recorded. ce was found in 295 (29.47%) out of 1001 cattle studied. ce was found in 113 (44.31%) out of 255 cows and 182 (24.39%) out of 746 bulls. this difference was statistically significant (p < 0.001). ...200818351547
